He is still adjusting to the many changes in their lives and will need a patient family who can give him the time and space he needs to settle in. Consistent routines and a calm environment will help him feel safe, secure, and comfortable enough to let his true personality shine.
Phil will need to meet any potential canine and human housemates here at the shelter prior to adoption. He could be a match for a family with children 8+ who understand how to interact appropriately with dogs, including giving him space when needed, recognizing when he is uncomfortable, and engaging in calm, gentle interactions. He is looking for a home without cats due to high prey drive.
With patience, understanding, and a predictable routine, he will grow into a confident and loving companion.
