Kayn, affectionately known as Mr. Bubbles in his foster home, is a 1½-year-old pup with a tender soul and a heart full of quiet resilience. Originally surrendered to BARCS, Kayn arrived shy, shut down, and unsure of the world around him. But thanks to the patience and love of his foster family, he's slowly learning what it means to be safe, loved, and part of a family-and it's been a joy to witness him begin to bloom.

Once too nervous to approach anyone, Kayn now gently seeks out affection and loves to be close to his people. His transformation is heartwarming: from a pup who cowered at new faces to one who happily snuggles, accepts belly rubs, and leans into face massages like he's known you forever. It just takes a calm, respectful introduction-and maybe a tasty treat-to win him over.

Kayn is a bit of a couch potato at heart, but don't let that fool you-he's still a puppy with playful energy. He enjoys zooming around the yard for short bursts, especially in the company of another friendly dog, and then happily settles in for a long nap. His current routine includes short play sessions, lounging in the grass, and lots of down time hanging with his foster family.

He is fully housebroken and crate trained, and thrives with structure and predictability. His leash manners are a work in progress-he's a little unsure near cars and unfamiliar places-but he's making strides each day with gentle encouragement and training. He has done great in the crate when left alone and appreciates having a cozy space of his own.

Kayn is also a social butterfly with other animals. He adores playing with other dogs and has done well with both males and females-though he can be a little pushy with female dogs. He reads social cues well and responds appropriately when corrected. He's also completely uninterested in the resident cats, chickens, goats, and pigs, and he's been wonderful with the family's toddler, showing nothing but gentleness and patience.

His ideal home would be one filled with calm, compassion, and understanding-someone who doesn't mind taking things slow and letting Kayn continue to grow at his own pace. A confident dog buddy would be a huge bonus, as Kayn learns a lot from watching and playing with his canine companions. He would thrive with an adopter who sees the beauty in quiet moments, who finds joy in small wins, and who wants to help a shy but loving dog come into his own.

With Kayn, every bit of trust is a gift-and every tail wag is a celebration. Kayn is currently in a foster home, learning how good life can be. To learn more about him or to set up a meet-and-greet, please email dogfosters@barcs.org to be connected with his foster family.
