Bio:
Meet Dirk!
This handsome 2 year old is what we like to call a golden child. I had the joy of being his winter foster, and he was one of the best fosters I've ever had. There is nothing but good dog in this guy. I believe he is a hound/lab/pit of some sort.
?? Crate trained. He is quiet as a mouse. I did have to train him to go into the kennel and not resist it, but now he loves running straight into it (with lots of praise following of course!).
?? House trained. So far, no accidents inside. I will say, he HATES the cold so I have had to be intentional about making him go out these past couple of days, but the day I got him when it was sunny, I literally couldn't make him come inside he was out there all day! And luckily, we don't get this cold often.
?? Extremely trainable. This is also coming from a certified dog trainer, I work for No Xcuses K9 in Summerville. Every foster I get I typically do a basic amount of training. He truly aims to please and sincerely listen to my every spoken work. He was couch trained, leash trained, trick trained and kennel trained I swear in 3 days time.
?? He is both people and dog friendly (now as a dog trainer & the shelter will say the same, always introduce properly any dogs). He has loved every human and he is kind of nonchalant about dogs, which is a win. He has been introduced to both male and female dogs while with me and has done great. Humans are his prize. He truly yearns for love and he is deserving of it. I think he would do amazing for anyone, but a family would be so fun for him as he is such a lover.
Truly, you can't lose with him.
