You might know Jersey Joe as a spokesman for Taco Bell, but did you know there was a heavyweight boxer called Jersey Joe Walcott? His real name was Arnold Raymond Cream. Born on January 31, 1914, he became the oldest man to win the heavyweight title at age 37. He later became the first African-American sheriff of Camden County, New Jersey. I'm no boxer, and I've never had a taco either. I'm an orange tabby and white adult male who was found in Kasson. I was nervous and hissy when I got here back in February 2023, and I am still not too happy about living in a cage, but I have learned to be more patient. I prefer that people do not pet me or pick me up, but I do like to chase the laser light and play with wand toys, so I could be a fun companion for someone. I also enjoy watching birds outside the window. I can sometimes become overstimulated and nip, so I would do best in a home with experienced cat owners and no children under 12 years old. I can hardly wait to get out of the shelter and into a loving home where I have lots of room to roam and explore, and people who understand me and can read my body language. Once I no longer have to deal with the stress of the shelter, a cat like me could really add some spice to your life! Stop by and get to know Jersey Joe!
