Wednesday is a 3.5 year old girl who has been with her foster family since December 2022. She was adopted for about 5 months and unfortunately returned through no fault of her own when her adopter had to take a new job.

Her foster family describes her as a cuddle bug who loves to play with her favorite toys; flirt pole, chuck it ball, and Benebones! She is a spunky lady that is always looking for a good time! Wednesday enjoys being outside and is very eager to please her human! She is extremely food motivated and has been receptive to training in her foster home. She's a healthy girl whose favorite snacks are carrots, snow peas, green beans, blueberries, and strawberries, although she'll never turn down some jerky or a bully stick. She has a very reliable sit and knows how to "wait," even for toys and food! Wednesday is currently on a hydrolyzed diet trial while her foster family investigates if she has a food allergy.

Wednesday also loves going on adventures with her foster family. She is the best passenger in the car! She prefers to ride shotgun but will also lay down in the back seat with a bone. Her favorite adventures while in foster have been going hiking, exploring local towns, and visiting dog friendly breweries!

She also walks well on a leash and is working on her leash manners in public settings. She can get excited about new smells, squirrels, and other dogs, but is refining loose leash walking skills while exploring new environments.

Wednesday is doing very well with crate training and can be crated with ease for 6 hours without any issues. She may whine a bit when she's excited to get out, but when given a frozen Kong or Toppl, she is content to relax in her crate. When it's time to get her out of the crate, she's happy to greet you with her favorite stuffy or nylabone while wiggling all around.

Wednesday has met other dogs on neutral territory and seems to prefer boy playmates over the girls - check out her video. She is required to be the only dog in her forever home just so she doesn't have to worry about sharing food and treats with another doggo. She has the tendency to chase cats in her foster home, too so we would highly recommend a proper acclimation to allow Wednesday to know that the cats are not to be chased.

Wednesday is residing in a foster home. Please email dogfosters@barcs.org to complete an application and be connected with her foster family!
