***** COURTESY POST *****

We are posting this darling girl to help her find a new home. She is NOT a BTRNC rescue. Hobbie's former owner entered an assisted living facility which left Hobbie homeless. It's been an adjustment for her as one might imagine, but she's really starting to shine. She will need some time to get comfortable again when she's adopted so, please give her that courtesy. By doing so, you'll be rewarded many times over with love and companionship. Here's more:

Age: 8 years old

Weight: 16 pounds

Health: Allergies (takes oral medication 1x a day to control itching)

Demeanor: Affectionate (once comfortable), sweet (at times), quiet/mellow (when you are), playful, curious, anxious (when riding in the car), hilarious, crafty, smart, vocal (at times)

Likes: People (no children), submissive dogs only, playing tug-o-war and fetch, giving kisses (plants one on you then runs away - ha ha), being held and sitting laps (on her terms), going for walks, burrowing under blankets

Dislikes: Being picked up, strangers

Manners: Housebroken, leash trained, crate trained, verbal commands: knows her name and comes when called

Fenced Yard Required: Preferred

Tidbits: The biggest thing to know about Hobbie is that she is sweet but selective. She needs time to adjust to her person or persons. Once she's decided whom her favorite will be, that person will be sought after all day as she seeks out your companionship. However, she needs time to make her decision. Initially, she may nip or lash out at anyone who touches her or tries to pick her up. Good news though... now that she's spent several weeks in her foster home, that behavior has become almost non-existent. But remember, she may begin that again when she's adopted. Please give her time to adjust.

Hobbie loves to:
get into stuff, run away and then pretend she is arriving to the scene of the crime (ha ha ha)
sit on the sofa in the evenings with her person
get chin scratches
kiss you and dash away
play fetch - a lot (a great way to bond with her)

She is a uniquely hilarious and smart girl, but she does have some habits that she's learning to break like nipping when uncomfortable in a situation or resource guarding. But she has come a long way, and we expect that to continue after perhaps a brief re-settling. She's a peach and deserves to be loved for who she is despite initial behavior.
