***IN FOSTER***
Swipe right on Gus!
If Gus could write a dating profile, his tagline would be "Looking for love and ready to settle down." He would also like you to know that he is a mature gentleman who believes in romance. Gus recently became a "health nut" to shed a few pounds and now he enjoys staying active, whether it be a morning zoomies session or playing with crinkle toys, and, if he's feeling frisky, attacking a catnip kick-a-roo. He hopes that you're into PDA, because he has a big heart and loves to cuddle. He also enjoys long naps and chin scratches.
This bachelor even comes with a great character reference-his foster mom thinks the world of him! She will tell you that Gus is a lovebug and lady's man who seeks love and affection while purring up a storm. He can be quite flirtatious! His signature move is to come up close to her face, wrap his paws around her arm, and nuzzle up to her. Then comes the head bump to seal the deal. It works every time! And if you wake up in the middle of the night from a bad dream, Gus will be there with a reassuring head bump. Gus recently started hanging out atop his foster's desk while she works during the day and will greet her at the door when she comes home.
Sometimes, Gus can be a little too passionate and will nip or hiss if he becomes overstimulated. But, Gus's reactive behaviour has lessened over time as he has grown more comfortable in his foster home. His foster mom has learned to read his body language and she'll be sure to fill you in about all his preferences to give your relationship a strong foundation!
His foster would also like you to know that Gus is the strong, silent type-unless it's mealtime, then he has plenty to say! While he loves company most of the time, he can also be very independent, and sometimes a bit brooding. He can be standoffish when he is approached first, so he prefers to make the first move. Gus is also not a fan of loud noises or sudden movements-both make him jumpy and potentially reactive. A quiet home with an experienced cat owner and no small children would be the ideal living situation for him. His previous relationship with a cat was a negative experience and he doesn't want to get his heart broken again. The best possible scenario for Gus would be if he is the only pet in the home. He is currently on a special diet for improved gastro health.
