Meet Zorro (the bandit)!

He is a sweet boy, who loves to give you kisses, snuggle with you watching TV, play with toys, and move your shoes and socks around the house (hasn't destroyed anything - yet ;-).

He is also extremely shy and would need a patient and loving home. He doesn't trust humans too much (outside his foster household), but once he does, he opens his heart completely. When he arrived at his foster home, he was afraid of almost everything and everyone around him. He opened up slowly and the strolls in the park and the hikes helped him get used to the outside world. He would need someone willing to keep up the work and slowly expose him to different situations.

Regarding his interactions with other animals, he wants to play with the cat and although he barks at other dogs on the trail (we believe it's his defense mechanism - after all he is a tiny Chihuahua that weights barely 6 pounds), he is friendly towards visiting dogs with a calm energy level.

?He is potty trained and does well if left alone for a few hours (after whining for several minutes). He doesn't bark too much in the house but he'll let you know if someone is at the door (he is a dog after all). He walks fairly well on the leash and has done good on short hikes. He is young and likes the exercise but he can also stay at home and relax. He does well on car rides and has been out to restaurants with outside seating (when that was a thing). He loves sunbaths, treats and cheese.

We believe he would make an excellent company for almost anyone, singles, couples, or families. Because he's afraid of loud noises and sudden movements, he'd do better with older children that understand the concepts of patience and giving space. He would do well in a house with a yard (he likes to go out, explore, and take a sunbath on the porch) but he could do evenly well in an apartment if he'd have access to the outside on a regular schedule.

In summary, he is a sweet, young, healthy and playful dog, who was under socialized and still needs someone to help him build his self-confidence.

Zorro is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. To meet or adopt Zorro, fill out an application and a volunteer will contact you shortly.
