Shybaby came to us last year after being hit by a car resulting in a broken pelvis and fractured shoulder. She had surgery and recovered in a loving adoptive home. Shybaby also had a dandruff problem that we attempted to resolve with diet and supplements. Shybaby's adopter reached out to us as the dandruff seemed to be getting worse and we provided an appointment with a dermatological veterinarian. Shybaby's adopter is unable to provide for her long-term medical needs and with a heavy heart has made the tough decision to return her to rescue. Shybaby is a sweet girl that everyone falls in love with upon meeting her. She was living in a loving home with two young children.
Shybaby has "Ichthyosis", a skin condition that causes flaking. Her treatment includes Omega 3 supplements daily, three times a week a medicated mousse is applied to her and every three weeks she is bathed with a medicated shampoo. With treatment, she has less flaky skin.
