We've seen some pretty gals in our time, but Sophie might just take the cake! She's a beautiful almost 2 year old copper AmStaff gal with a bit of a lowrider build and a puppyish heart! Sophie arrived at CCR after being grazed by a car while running stray in the western suburbs. She wasn't seriously injured, but the incident slowed her down long enough for her to be caught! No one came forward to claim Sophie, and we're wondering if it's because her previous family wasn't all that nice to her. Sophie loves people but she's also initially pretty terrified that someone is going to hurt her...whether that's because she was hurt previously or because she was never interacted with much at all, we don't know. What we do know is that if you go slow, give Sophie time to adjust and lots of sweet talk, she'll open up and then all bets are off! Sophie is a playful, affectionate, submissive gal at heart who needs a family she can trust 100% to love her no matter what.

Because of her initial skittishness, Sophie needs an adult home with no children that has a little patience to let her go at her own pace and would do best as the only dog in the home!
