Update: Louie seems most comfortable with adults women and is ok with small to medium dogs, cats possibly but will depend on cat. Louie will continue to need a Very patient family and may need several meet and greets to make sure for a good fit. Louie is currently on anti anxiety meds and new adopter needs to be committed to continuing with them. If you have the right home including patience and Love Louie may be the one for you, he is not for every home, but it only takes just 1.

Update: Louie is really coming around at his foster home, he enjoys the chi in the home, lays on the couch to be close to foster mom on his own terms of course, and will let her lean down and pet him when he is in his bed. He is progressing on the leash training and is even going out to potty. This little guy will need a commitment from his new adopter and needs lots of time to continue on his journey to a happy outgoing guy. Quiet home a must!!

Update from foster. Louie is still very anxious, is pretty much glued to Foster Mom's side, has separation anxiety also. Louie is most comfortable when his people are home with him consistently. He gets along well with the resident Chihuahua. At this point Louie may not be ready for a permanent home. Right now we are looking for someone with doggie experience -- not "happy-go-lucky dog experience" -- but dog experience with these type of dogs. Also a fenced in yard and no children in the house - they just won't understand how scared he is. He seems more comfortable with women than men in general. Also, right now we believe Louie needs another small dog companion -- not one that's going to be overbearing, but one that will both sit and snuggle with him and also give him his space.

Louie is estimated to be a 4 year old jack russell weighing in at approximately 7 pounds. Louie was surrendered from a multi-dog home after their owner could no longer care for them.

Jack Russells are typically high energy dogs that needs a family committed to regular exercise and interactive play to keep them mentally challenged.
