This handsome devil is Roscoe. Roscoe is a BTRNC alum who has decided that he can no longer tolerate the other dogs in his home. Because he can be reactive towards them (lashes out), be it from jealousy or anxiety, his mom feels he'd be much happier where he can get all the attention he deserves and none of the triggers that create havoc. Aside from that, he is a dream. Sweet, adorable, funny and well mannered, Roscoe would make a wonderful companion for a dog and child-free home (cats are okay). Read more about this charmer below:

Age: 4 years old

Weight: 50 pounds

Breed: Boston mix

Health: Excellent

Demeanor: Affectionate, sweet, timid/shy, quiet/mellow, playful, couch potato, curious, loner, anxious

Likes: People (no children), cats (no dogs), giving kisses and snuggling, being held and sitting in laps, belly rubs, burrowing under blankets, sleeping in your bed, treats

Dislikes: Dogs, children, loud noises, fireworks, thunderstorms, vet's office, going for car rides, being crate and sharing toys

Manners: Housebroken, okay on leash, knows some verbal commands

Fenced Yard Required: Preferred but not necessary

Tidbits: Roscoe will need to be an only dog with no small children in his next home. He will need to be considered a part of the family and in return, he will provide you with lots of love! He thinks his job is to protect his home and his people and he's very good at it! He likes to think he's part human, he wants to sleep under the covers. He can't really figure out how to get himself under there so he will need your help. He will keep your legs warm all night! When you tell him it's time for him to go to his own bed, he will begrudgingly go. But be sure he has a heated bed because he loves it! He currently has a heating pad in his. He has never met a pillow he didn't want to lay on, so you may find him behind all your pretty bedroom pillows! He is ok in a crate but it's not necessary. He is ok being left alone but if you leave him with a treat or a bone, even better! He has funny dances when he's excited - he knows food is coming and will do a jig to tell you he's ready. He does the same jig when he needs to go out, like right now! He's a bit intimidated by the great big world outside of his home so he doesn't have fun on walks. I think with some training, he could build up his confidence and learn to love them. Roscoe is a great companion. He is soft and cuddly. He's silly, clumsy, not that bright and doesn't want anything more than to just be near his human. He will do whatever you ask of him. He will love you a lot! Regardless of his start in life, which was rough, he is still completely in love with those who treat him right.

The best home for Roscoe would be one that is calm and quiet. No dogs, no children, no crazy commotion or coming and goings. You will be rewarded with genuine love and affection. If you can provide Roscoe with environment above, please apply here:
