Meet the Marvelous Mrs. Meghan, a darling delight who is loving, sweet, and eager to find herself a new home. Meghan is looking to find a like-minded companion, someone quiet and low-key like herself, perhaps a fellow senior, so they may spend their golden years together. Or at least someone with a quiet home, a regular routine, and a desire for a feline friend.

Meghan loves having the run of her surroundings. Being able to roam as she pleases, find new spots to nap in, and explore every nook and cranny when she's in the mood. She particularly enjoys tight quarters to cuddle up in, like desk drawers or the shelves of enclosed cabinets. Every now and then she'll attack a toy or romp around with a feline friend, though she prefers to be the boss with them. She would be fine sharing a new home with some other cats. Meghan loves being around her people and will frequently curl up near them to relax or nap.

Meghan has feline diabetes, but she doesn't let it spoil her day. She's fine with taking her medicine and insulin injections, so there's no reason to feel shy or nervous about administering them to her. Our staff will happily instruct how to do so to make Meghan and her new people feel the most comfortable. Diabetes medication, supplies and veterinary check-ups are part of Meghan's deal and what make her extra special, so her new person or people should be prepared to spend a little more on her each month, ensuring she stays healthy and happy in her new home. Medical professionals, who are trained to recognize the signs of high and low blood sugar and know what it is like to treat someone with diabetes (including administering insulin injections), or someone who has diabetes and would like a feline friend to empathize with, would make for a great home for Meghan. Having a friend who understands you can be very therapeutic for human and feline alike and strengthen the mind-body connection.

To help make her transition into her new home a smooth one, we'll send you home with an appointment for a complimentary wellness exam at the AWS Community Veterinary Clinic and a diabetes starter kit when you adopt her!
