Bentley Craig is a lot of dog in an itty-bitty package. While he is super adorable, he can also be super stubborn which stems from a lack of self-confidence. He can be affectionate, enjoys playing ball, and loves to go on his walks, but it's on his terms. Bentley can be a bit bossy with what he wants so Bentley will need an experienced owner to set boundaries and structure for him, all while providing the love he needs. Bentley needs to be an only dog in an adult only home. If you are interested in learning more about Bentley Craig or have questions, please contact the SPCA of Anne Arundel County and ask to speak to a member of the Canine Enrichment Team.

Bentley Craig hails from the sunshine state, but that laid-back California attitude was not his style. He is not big on the peace love hugs and kisses and prefers a more formal living situation. Picture Bentley Craig as an uptight accountant- he likes to take stock of his belongings and is NOT a fan of sharing. All business, Bentley Craig has been divorced several times and is not a family man. He's looking for a strong, independent owner with no small kids and no expectations of ever carrying him around in a purse.

Bentley Craig currently has several applications being processed. Currently, only qualified applicants will be contacted. Bentley Craig has been moved around a bit due to some behavioral issues, so only candidates with behavioral training experience will be considered.

In order to apply for adoption of Bentley-Craig, you must fulfill these requirements:

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS
- Must have extensive experience with Terrier breeds.
- Must have extensive ownership & training experience with behavior issue & dominant dogs.
- Must commit to work with a private dog trainer in the home.

Bentley previously spent some time in a Foster Home. Here's what his foster dad has this to say:
For the most part, Bentley is house trained. He's had some accidents but he will bark, howl and paw at you when he needs to go out. He loves his walks and does good in the car. He doesn't bark except when he needs to go out. He doesn't beg for food and hasn't torn up anything in the house. Bentley does not need to be crated, but he is fine in his crate. Essentially, Bentley sleeps, goes for walks, sits in his foster dad's lap and plays with his Kong. He has guarding issues, so no stuffed animals or balls. He does not guard his Kong or other toys that have treats associated with them.

Because of his guarding issues, Bentley needs a home with no children (18+ only) and an experienced owner committed to training and working with him. Experience with behavior issue dogs is a must. He originally came to us from California so much of his original background is unknown.
