Meet Frost, a sweet soul who sees the world with his heart.

Frost is a sweet, resilient cat who has endured more than most. After being rescued from an abandoned garage where he injured his eyes on exposed nails, Frost had them removed due to infection. Now safe and sound with the Etobicoke Humane Society, this gentle soul is adjusting to his new life without sight.

ABOUT FROST:
- In foster
- Adult, domestic shorthair (brown tabby), male
- Frost is initially wary due to his blindness, but he is incredibly gentle. He may hiss or swat if startled, but this behaviour is slowly diminishing as he becomes more comfortable around people.
- Frost finds comfort in his cozy cubby with a favourite blanket and cat toy. He will retreat to his cubby when he needs alone time.
- He ventures outside his cubby a few times daily to stretch, sunbathe, roll around, play with his plush toy by himself, and enjoy head and cheek rubs.
- Frost leans into head and chin scratches when feeling safe, showing his affectionate side.
- He is quiet most of the time but vocal in the mornings and evenings. He uses his sweet, vocal presence to seek attention and food.
- Frost has FIV, which is a virus that weakens the immune system of a cat but is not transmissible to humans or other species.
- Frost also lives with early kidney disease which is easily managed with a special diet. He does not require medication at this time.
- Frost is neutered, house-trained, not declawed, microchipped, and has received core vaccinations.

FROST'S IDEAL HOME:
- He is looking for a calm, loving environment where he can continue to thrive. A home without small children or dogs is best. He is comfortable around other feline-friendly cats.
- Frost does not require medication but vet checkups twice a year are recommended.
- Cats who have FIV can live just as long as other cats if they are properly cared for with a good diet, an indoor home, and a loving family.

With patience and understanding, Frost will undoubtedly become a cherished companion for anyone willing to offer him a forever home. If you think Frost would thrive in your home, submit an adoption application today!
