Hi there! I'm Delilah, and while I'm almost 12 years old, I'm still full of purrs, headbutts, and love to give! I'm a sweet, cuddly gal who lives for affection-whether it's gentle head and neck scratches, brushing (as long as you're also giving me pets!), or cozying up in a quiet space with my person.
When I'm happy, I'll lean into you for more, purr like a motor, and sometimes roll over to flash my fluffy belly (though I don't always want it touched-I'm just showing off!). I might not be the brightest bulb in the box-I sometimes run into walls when I get excited-but I promise, I'm charming and full of heart.
I do have a few quirks. I don't love being picked up or handled too much, and I can get a little stressed at the vet or during car rides-especially if I'm confined or my head is covered. I also prefer a calm home without young children, since too much chaos can overwhelm me.
Medically, I have a common senior cat condition called hyperthyroidism, which means I take a small pill (called Felimazole) twice a day to keep me feeling great-and I'm doing really well on it! I also tend to vomit if I eat too fast, but I use a slow feeder bowl here at the shelter, and it helps a lot. My coat is a little patchy right now (the vet thinks it's stress-related over-grooming), so I'd love more space, enrichment, and calm companionship to help me feel my best.
I'm a chatty girl when I'm hungry (you'll hear all about it!), and I adore cardboard scratchers, kicker toys, wand play, and-of course-fresh catnip.
