Meet Hershey! Hershey is about 2 years old, 50 lbs, and he is a mutt! Hershey was pulled from a high kill shelter in the south with a "wonky" back leg. It appears that he had a very old break perhaps at the growth plate that has made that leg shorter than the others. He holds it up/out at the end of the day when he is tired, and may need an amputation down the road if he stops using the leg. For now, he does quite well with it!
In his foster home, he hasn't had any accidents, is crate trained but does well left home uncrated, and loves going for leashed walks. He could go to a home with kids 10+ and other active dogs. No cats please!
His foster says, "Hershey is such a sweet and goofy boy! He's medium energy and is the perfect combination of playful and couch-potato. He enjoys his daily walks, but is then content spending the rest of the day snuggled beside you on the couch. He's a smart boy and quickly learned basic commands such as sit, laydown, come, and wait. He walks with a limp due to a previous injury, but doesn't let this slow him down! He loves running around the yard and wrestling with our other pup throughout the day. He also does great in the car and loves going for rides. We can't wait to see Hershey living his best life with his forever family!"
