Meet Moroni!
Moroni is FIV positive. FIV is a lentivirus, a slow-progressing virus that can compromise a cat's immune system, reducing its ability to fight off illnesses. The virus has a long latent period then progresses so slowly that it may never affect a cat. FIV is transmitted through deep bites between cats and cannot be spread to people or dogs.
Moroni was found in the alleys of Gananoque behind the popular restaurant in town. He was completely bald and had clearly been in need of immediate medical attention for a long time. Mr. Moroni has since grown his soft beautiful coat back and could walk around talking about it all day.
This boy is extremely talkative, especially when toys are introduced; he definitely has a playful side! He also genuinely enjoys feline companionship and is often caught grooming the other boys in his room. Moroni does well with other cats, and may be fine with cat friendly dogs, assuming introductions are done appropriately, as he is very easy going. He should be fine with children, however his home has to be low-stress and indoors ONLY due to being FIV+.
Moroni is currently on no medications however a high quality diet with daily Lysine supplements.
This friendly, affectionate and loving boy enjoys lots of pets and snuggles however doesn't enjoy being picked up. We believe this will change as he gets more comfortable in his perfect home.
