Meet Austin, a sweet and resilient cat who is ready to find a patient and understanding family to call his own. After overcoming a difficult past, Austin has made incredible progress and continues to learn that people can be kind and trustworthy. Austin is a gentle soul who can be shy and cautious when meeting new people. While he may not be the type of cat to immediately seek attention, he enjoys the quiet company of those he trusts and is happiest sharing a room with his people from a comfortable distance. Having gained much of his confidence alongside his buddy Raoul (now adopted), Austin is slowly becoming more comfortable in his surroundings and is beginning to feel brave enough to venture out and meet the lobby cats. Their friendship has helped Austin come out of his shell, and Raoul may be a possible companion for him as he continues his journey toward finding a home. With time, patience, and a calm environment, Austin continues to build confidence and show more of his wonderful personality.
Austin came into our care on October 25, 2025, after a concerned resident noticed that his tail had been severely degloved. After speaking with local residents, it became clear that this brave boy had been living as a stray and fending for himself. Despite everything he has endured, Austin has remained gentle and has worked hard to overcome the challenges of his past. Austin is looking for a home that will allow him to settle in at his own pace, provide him with plenty of patience and reassurance, and celebrate the small victories along the way.
