Meet Max
Max is the perfect dog's dog and people pleaser. He was rescued from a high kill shelter. Thank goodness he now has a second chance to find a loving home. Max is simply...wonderful!
Max is a seven-month-old black labrador retriever (mix?). He has a beautiful silky coat and an athletic build. He weighs 40 lbs., although he'll grow a little but more, and is of a slim build. Max has an outgoing, friendly, and sweet personality. He has a welcoming demeanor towards people and dogs. He'd do well with another dog in the home or be happy enough being your center of attention. Max would probably do great with kids and he'd love an active lifestyle. He loves to play, walk, hike and simply be his gregarious self. A fenced yard will be a real bonus for this handsome boy so he can play in safety. He is treat motivated and seems to already be house-trained. If you are looking for an older puppy, Max is a great choice. He will fill your heart and home with love and be a wonderful companion.

All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals.
Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
