Meet Hazel
Hazel is a shelter favorite. She is a two-year-old bulldog mix. We rescued her from a high kill shelter. She is now basking in all the love we can give her at our no-kill shelter. She is an absolute sweetheart and keeper.
Hazel has the sweetest face and is a go along to get along kind of girl. She is calm, sweet, friendly, affectionate, quiet, easy-going, and relaxed. Life hasn't been kind to her and she was neglected and abandoned, but Hazel has shaken off her past and is ready for her bright new future. Hazel is people, dog and cat friendly. She greets every dog with kisses and makes several of our timid dogs feel comfortable. She has a great, steady-eddy kind of demeanor. And bonus...she is housetrained! Her gentle manners are exceptional. Hazel loves treats and takes them so gently. She walks easily on a leash and loves strolling. Hazel travels well. She is a wonderful and loving companion. She would do well in a home with other dogs or she'd simply be happy as your best friend. She's incredible. Hazel has it all except a family to love her. Might that be you?

Please email our shelter (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) or call our shelter at 706-865-4135 and leave a message to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
