Meet Porter
Porter is a stunning young dog! Porter was born at our shelter and eagerly adopted as a puppy. He was returned to us after having been adopted nearly three years ago. We're glad he is safe with us again. Sadly, we think Porter got bigger than his family wanted and their lives got busy. After enjoying Porter as a puppy, it seems that he was subsequently confined to a crate for much of the time and was going a little bonkers. We are so glad that his owners returned him to us and wish only that they would have done it sooner, for Porter's sake. Thankfully, Porter has rebounded and is thriving at our shelter. He seems happy to be with us where he gets all sorts of attention, a big yard to run in and all the love and care we can give him. He is thriving to say the least.
Porter is a retriever/hound mix. He is three years old, medium/large size of solid muscle. Porter loves to give body hugs and holds on just absorbing human contact. He had been without for so long and we're trying to give him back all those lost years. He is friendly, affectionate, sweet, and calm. He seems to like other dogs and happily makes the rounds in the yard to say hello. Porter is house-trained and crate trained. He travels well in a car. Porter walks well on a leash. He'd love to go on adventures, snuggle on a cozy couch with his person, or snooze on a porch. He has wonderful manners. Porter deserves a family where he is a part of the mix. He longs to belong. After a couple of years of being pushed aside, he deserves to be a part of a loving family or with a person who knows and is willing to cherish him. Porter is absolute gold and a keeper.
