Meet Twister! This little tuxedo girl, pictured here with her sister Cyclone, is showing you something pretty typical for Twister: she feels safest when she has a sibling close by.
Of this nervous little crew, Twister had one of the hardest times coming out of her shell in foster care. She wasn't ready to be hand-fed treats, and when she's overwhelmed, her instinct isn't to run or put on a tough act. Twister freezes. The world still feels pretty big and scary to her.
But she made progress in her own quiet way. By the end of her foster stay, Twister could comfortably relax in the same room as her foster human. That might sound like a small thing, but for a kitten who arrived terrified, it's a pretty big deal.
Like her siblings, Twister needs time. Time to decompress. Time to watch. Time to learn the routines of a new home and realize nobody is going to rush her before she's ready. A confident feline friend may also help her feel a little braver while she figures things out.
Twister isn't going to walk into her new home and immediately demand your attention. She's the kind of kitten whose trust you'll earn little by little, and we have a feeling watching her finally realize she's safe will be pretty special.
