Meet Copley!
Copley is a sweet, handsome approximately 4-year-old boy who likes to greet people as soon as possible. He has been known to jump into a stranger's lap before.
Like any dog, Copley has moments where he may need some space when he's feeling overwhelmed. He does mildly guard resources as well. Because of this, we are looking for a forever home with children ages 13 and older who can understand and respect his boundaries when he needs some alone time.
When it comes to other dogs, Copley can enjoy canine company, but he is selective about his friends. He likely wouldn't be a fan of the dog park, and any introductions to other dogs should be handled slowly, and thoughtfully. In fact, Copley may be happiest as the only dog in his forever home. At this time, we're still getting to know Copley and aren't sure how he feels about cats.
Copley is looking for a special person who will appreciate him for the unique dog he is. We would love to find him an adopter who has previous experience owning Akitas and is familiar with their behavior and needs.
