Meet Chowder! Chowder is a 3.5-year-old Chow Chow looking for a home that understands the breed. He can be a little reserved when meeting new people and likes to take his time getting to know you. But once he decides you're one of his people, you'll get to see his fun side! Chowder has a signature "Chow bounce" and gets pretty excited when his favorite people come home. Chowder is a laid-back guy who enjoys a quieter home. He's happy relaxing near his people, hanging out in the yard, or stretching out on the couch or bed. He also likes his kennel and uses it as his own safe space. He's kennel trained, knows his basic commands, and is very food motivated. He enjoys tennis balls and cooling off in a kiddie pool on a warm day. Chowder loves other dogs and would do well with a dog around his own size and energy level. He has never lived with cats, so we're looking for a cat-free home. He's also never been around children, so we think an adult home would be best. He'll need to stay on leash when outside of a securely fenced yard. Chowder enjoys exploring, but he isn't a dog you can trust off leash. We're looking for someone with Chow Chow experience, or someone who understands and appreciates their independent personality. If you think Chowder might be your kind of dog, come meet him!
