Springtime brings pussy willows and hope. The pussy willow symbolizes hope and resilience, and like the shrub with its fuzzy flowers, I, too, hope for a promising future. I'm Willow, a young adult calico cat. It was mid-July when I came here from another rescue. At the time, I was estimated to be 1 ½ years old. I was nervous, and I hid so much that I was practically invisible. Now, I am becoming more active and alert. I still feel safest sitting in the lower level of a cat tower in the corner of my room. However, there is a woman who spends a lot of time sitting near me on the floor. She offers me Churu, and I like to lick it off her fingers. I will also eat pâté-style cat food out of a small dish if she slides it over to me slowly and I have it all to myself with no other cats barging in! I even let her pet me if I am in my safe place and we are on the same level. I come out of hiding and am out in the open more often. I like playing with wand toys! One day, I played with two different ones! I do not like hands coming at me from above! I do NOT like the brush and will swat it away if anyone tries to brush me. Building trust takes time and patience. Let's not wait for spring! If I have a calm, quiet environment and a loving, understanding person who will allow me to develop a relationship at my own pace, I can show you what a beautiful girl I am, inside and out. With plenty of time, space, and understanding, I can become my best self, lovely, lovable Willow.
