Champions are defined by a dream, by their desire, not just wins. People here work hard to care for homeless cats and dogs, some who are sick, some who are old. Some animals are scared, sad, upset, and lonely. Some are excited, happy, and brave. These people are champions. My name, Nigel, means "champion." I am a tabby and white adult who was found in NW Rochester. I don't think of myself as a hero or a champion. I was nervous when my finder brought me here. I'm not so scared now, though. People are kind. I like being petted, especially when they rub my head and ears. I AM brave. I'll try to make friends and be a good boy. Maybe I can be a champ. Brave, friendly, loving. Nigel.
