Tanner. It turns out that my name means different things in different languages. In English, it's a leather worker, coming from "tann," which means "oak bark." In German, it's "fir tree." And for you Finns, it's "ground" or "field." My fur is darker than tan. I'm a brown tabby and white male, and I've had enough of the so-called "great outdoors," be it oak, fir, or parking lots. Parking lots? Brr! Eighteen of us cats were in two crates, abandoned in the parking lot of a boat store! A rescue group was able to transport us to safety at Paws and Claws. I am relieved to be toasty warm and eating good food. I'm still scared and confused, but people know that they need to approach me quietly and slowly so that they don't spook me. I tolerate touch and gentle petting when their mannerisms are relaxed and calm. I just need time and patience until I feel comfortable. I will adapt and you'll see the true Tanner. I purr-omise!
