Guess what October 2 is! It's my Annie-versary! That's the day I came to Paws and Claws last year. Should I celebrate? I'm not sure. I was found at Silver Lake Park, and I hear people talking about all the construction that's going on near the area where I was found, so on one hand, maybe it's good that I am off the streets, safe and sound. On the other hand, I have been in the shelter for - let's face it - a whole year! Granted, I have been one of those kitties who "didn't show well." But people here are saying that I've come a long way. I've started to like being petted, and I have even begun approaching them to ask for attention! I rub against their legs when they're in my room. At times, I even rub against them when they are at the sink washing dishes. I've gotten much more curious about what people are up to, and while I still don't like being picked up, I feel comfortable with staff and volunteers that I see on a regular basis. It takes time for me to warm up to new people, but if they are patient, approach me slowly, and do not try to pick me up, I will gradually become more friendly. I like having a window where I can sit and watch birds, and I like playing with a wand toy and a toy mouse. I like to eat Cat Chow and as a treat, Meow Mix. I will most likely need time to adjust to a new home, so please be patient, really patient. I have an idea, and I hope you like it. What if I have a new Annie-versary to celebrate next year? How about celebrating my "Gotcha Day"?
