Avril came in as a stray 8/25/25 and after her stray hold was up she was scheduled for spay and tested for heartworm. Sweet Avril tested positive and began her long confinement and treatment which she handled like an angel. She finished with her treatment and is Heartworm free.
Avril is a combination of all things amazing - she's active, yet chill, playful, yet relaxed. She'll be your best friend, social butterfly, and she even knows basic commands and walks like a true lady on her leash. She cannot live with cats or any other type of small animals.
Now Avril did eventually find a home after waiting for about 8 months here at the shelter but unfortunately was returned. You see we also now know Avril is very protective of her home. This is absolutely manageable and her forever home should simply crate her when company comes. Away from the home she is social she just loves her humans deeply and wants to protect her safe place. In a calm home she will thrive. She's been through so much and handled it like a queen, she deserves a happily ever after for sure. If you think you can offer this to Avril please come meet this beauty.
