Meet Bookmark - adventure enthusiast, squeaky-toy connoisseur, and author of his own daily diary.
Bookmark is the kind of dog who turns an ordinary day into a highlight reel, and his latest adventures prove it. After three field trips in a row (yes, three!), he's shown our volunteers just how fun, silly, and lovable he really is.
During a recent outing to a local Sniff Spot, Bookmark put on quite the performance. According to him, his "athletic prowess knows no bounds" - and honestly, the photos do back him up. Whether it took one leap or five to catch the toy is between him and his diary, but one thing is certain: he had a blast.
He discovered that ice cubes make funny noises but also make his nose feel weird. And while his chaperones tried to hide snacks inside the ice cubes, Bookmark remains convinced he won that game.
His current favorite thing in the world? Squeaky toys. The louder, the better. Football-shaped, ball-shaped - doesn't matter, as long as it squeaks like it means it. He's also been practicing his toy-trading manners: sometimes he'll happily swap, and other times he'll gently remind you that "dog toys are for dogs," though he's open to the idea of sharing... maybe.
Bookmark also braved the sprinkler again - this time preferring a light shower instead of full-on play - and he handled getting in and out of the car (with a little help) like a champ. Bookmark is friendly, active, toy-motivated, and loves games that challenge his brain. He enjoys play, treats, and exploring new places. He's easy to towel dry, enjoys affection, and continues to build trust through positive interactions. With continued practice, he'll be a fantastic partner for fetch, toy trading, and fun family adventures.
Back at the shelter, Bookmark continues to shine.
This 47-pound brown-and-white pup has a bright spirit and an eagerness to greet each new chapter with enthusiasm. He loves toys, staying busy, and learning new things. Like many young dogs, he's still working on manners and sharing, but he responds beautifully to consistency and positive reinforcement.
He brings exuberance and friendliness into dog introductions and would love to meet any resident dogs to make sure their playstyles match.
Bookmark's story is still being written, and he's looking for a family who will turn his days into adventures - with play, training, love, and lots of squeaky toys along the way.
Meet Bookmark. Your new best chapter is waiting.
