Meet Rubix - A Quiet, Gentle Soul Looking for a Patient Home
Rubix is a sensitive dog who's still learning to navigate the world with confidence. He's shown signs of anxiety and under socialization in our care and needs a calm, patient adopter who will give him the time and space to feel safe. He's cautious around new people, approaching slowly with a lowered posture and tucked tail, and may be hesitant to leave his kennel-but once outside, he walks calmly on leash. Rubix warms up gradually with a gentle approach and allowed petting after time to settle. He showed no signs of resource guarding but had limited interest in toys or food, likely due to stress. When meeting another calm male dog, he was polite but disengaged, suggesting he may do well with a laid-back canine companion after a slow introduction. Rubix would thrive in a quiet home-preferably with older kids or adults only-and would benefit from working with a trainer to help build his confidence. With patience and kindness, Rubix has the potential to become a truly devoted companion.
