Maxi is just 17lbs and loves a good squeaky toy! When Maxi first arrived at the shelter, he was shutdown and uninterested in engaging, but he has since opened up and happily greets our caretaking staff! Though he's about 4 years old, Maxi would benefit from learning to be a dog (primarily socialization and basic obedience training) so he can be the best canine citizen he can be! Maxi has lived with another small dog in the past, but we are uncertain whether the two got along, so make sure you bring any resident doggies along to meet Maxi to ensure they approve of each other! Due to his somewhat shy and fearful nature, Maxi would do best in a quiet household with a family who can read his body language and respect his boundaries. For this reason, we ask that Maxi's family be only adults and kids over 13 years. Does Maxi sound like he'd fit right in with your household? Come on by and meet him!
