Meet Rex - A Loyal, Gentle Senior Looking for His Next Chapter
Rex is a sweet senior pup with a heart full of love and a history of kindness. Having previously lived peacefully with a pot-bellied pig and two other dogs, Rex is a well-mannered companion who's also great with kids and family members. While we're unsure how he'd react to cats, his gentle nature suggests he could adjust well with proper introductions. Rex has a low-to-medium energy level and enjoys the simple things in life-pets, cuddles, and cozy naps. Though he's a bit hard of hearing, he still knows how to sit for treats and always greets you with a loose, waggy body and a warm heart. He especially leans in for belly rubs and thrives on human affection. Rex has shown low levels of fear, anxiety, and stress during all handling and medical assessments. He's cooperative, friendly with staff, and accepts handling well. While he hasn't shown interest in play, he's happiest being near his people, soaking up love and companionship. Rex would do best in a calm, loving home where he can be the center of attention or with a dog who matches his low-key demeanor and can be introduced gradually. He's a steady soul looking for someone to share quiet moments, offer reassurance during storms, and love him through his golden years. Could you be Rex's soft place to land? Additionally, Rex's adoption is fee-waived, AND he is going home with a $500 credit at Pender Veterinary Practice for continuing care, thanks to our Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter!
