This handsome senior is OJ! Oj has a very unique personality and loves to express himself by talking and spending time with the staff here at the NSPCA. Oj has what is called feline diabetes which is a condition where cats can not properly regulate their blood sugar due to insulin issues. Diabetic cats need a little bit more daily care but they can be just as happy and loving as non-diabetic cats. Daily care for a cat like Oj includes insulin injections twice daily, a steady-low carb diet, as well as overall monitoring for behavior or health changes. Owning a diabetic cat can cost around $50-$150 per month for insulin, syringes, and prescription diets (occasional vet visits and tests may add extra costs). While Oj may be a little costlier than your normal cat he is definitely worth it as he is such a sweet gentleman that is looking for a home to be loved in for the rest of his senior years!
