He's not a monkey, but he is curious. Meet George!
George and his siblings Nelly, Coco, and Shade were rescued after their owner passed away. Now living at EHS, George is adjusting to shelter life while waiting for a forever home. George has shown some curiosity toward the new humans he's met, but he needs to learn how to trust again. After a much-needed trip to the groomers to clean up some seriously matted fur, George is feeling like a handsome fellow once more!
ABOUT GEORGE:
-At shelter
-Senior, domestic medium hair, male
-George is a dignified cat, but won't hesitate to give a hiss when he feels threatened.
-George has been described as the "protector" of his siblings, who will run behind him when they feel afraid. The other cats in his life also use him as a pillow, probably because he's so fluffy!
-He is a thoughtful and loyal cat who will protect those he loves.
-George is timid at first, but warms up once he feels comfortable.
-He has started accepting pets from the back-scratcher, but make sure to use the flat side only so it doesn't get stuck in his floof. His favourite spots to receive affection are his upper body and shoulder area. He's getting so relaxed, a volunteer reports he almost drifted off last time she pet him.
-He is a skittish cat who has had minimal experience with humans.
-George is currently enrolled in EHS's socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help him become more comfortable around people.
-George is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.
GEORGE'S IDEAL HOME:
-George has always lived with other cats and would do well either alone or in a multi-feline home, especially with one of his siblings! (Do you have space in your home and heart for more than one? See the "multi cat" adoption deal!)
-A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children.
-Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help George settle into his new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist George with a successful transition to his forever home.
-Unsure of his history with dogs.
Why not swing by the shelter and meet George today? You might just be his "man in the yellow hat!"
