Gemma is a 5-year-old mixed-breed sweetheart who has come such a long way since arriving at the shelter. When she first came to us, she was shy, reserved, and unsure of her new surroundings. With patience, kindness, and plenty of compassion, Gemma has truly blossomed into a loving and affectionate companion. Once she trusts you, Gemma's gentle personality shines. She absolutely adores attention and will happily lean her whole body into you for pets and butt scratches. In fact, if she had her way, she'd be curled up in your lap as often as possible! Her sweet nature and desire to be close to her people make her a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal best friend. Gemma also enjoys playtime and can often be found carrying around plush toys or enjoying a squeaky toy. Gemma is looking to be the only pet in the hom where she can soak up all the love. Due to her sometimes nervous nature, we believe she'd do best with children ages 8 and older who can respect her boundaries and help her continue building confidence. If you're looking for a kind-hearted dog who just needs a little love to show her true self, Gemma may be the dog for you!
