Scout is a 4-year-old Boston Terrier who came to us through our partners at VCA Milwaukee Emergency Center for Animals.
We received a call about a young dog who had developed a serious intestinal obstruction and desperately needed surgery. The obstruction was caused by Scout swallowing a toy, and unfortunately, this was much more serious than anyone initially realized.
Scout's owners did not want to part with him. They loved him and wanted him to have every chance to survive, but they simply could not afford the emergency surgery he needed. They made the incredibly difficult decision to surrender Scout to JR's Pups-N-Stuff so that we could get him the medical care he needed.
Fast forward, and Scout has been through not one, but two surgeries. Because of the type and location of the blockage, the perforations that occurred, the need for tube feeding, and the amount of time he needed to remain hospitalized, his care was significantly more extensive than we initially anticipated.
The good news is that Scout is now recovering in his foster home, and we are so grateful to see this little guy moving in the right direction. He has been given a second chance, and we are determined to make sure that chance counts.

All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations. As required by Wisconsin Act 90, all dogs will have received a veterinarian exam (CVI) within the past 30 days.
