Hello, I'm Maeve, a beautiful dark tortie girl with gorgeous amber eyes and a sweet, gentle personality that takes a little time to discover. I'm a bit on the shy side, and while my sister Maybelline is the outgoing one who happily introduces herself to everyone, I prefer to hang back, observe, and decide when I'm ready to join in.
When we first meet, I might hide a little while I figure you out. I'm an expert at finding the perfect little hiding spot where I can relax and feel safe, so I'll need some patience, a few treats, and the chance to come out of my shell at my own pace. You might even catch me studying you when you're not looking, trying to understand this whole "forever home" thing.
But underneath my shyness is an incredibly sweet girl who loves affection once she feels comfortable. You can pick me up and hold me, and when you sit down to give me chin scratches and gentle pets, I absolutely melt. I may not beg for attention like Maybelline, but once I realize how wonderful those cuddles feel, I might just surprise you by asking for more. In fact... that wasn't so bad. You can do it again. I SAID DO IT AGAIN!
I also have a great appetite, which means my little tummy is almost always adorably round and happy! When I'm not enjoying a good meal, I love playing with toys and snuggling up with my friend Maybelline, especially when I need a little extra comfort. I get along well with other cats, children, and a medium-sized female dog, and I'm litter box trained, too.
I may take a little more time and patience to feel safe, but I promise I'm worth it. If you have a soft spot for shy kitties and are willing to give me the time I need to feel loved, I might just be the perfect girl for you. My adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Plus, a microchip that is already registered to you! What more could you ask for?
If my bio shows "Spay/Neutered" with a checkmark, I have already been altered; if you do not see this listed, my surgery is still scheduled and a refundable spay/neuter deposit will be required, which will be returned within 10 business days after my procedure is completed.

Adoptions are by appointment Tuesday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, you're welcome to walk in anytime between 10:00am and 5:00pm. Please note that we're closed for adoptions on Sundays and Mondays.
