Hi, I'm Cherokee.
I've been with my family for about four and a half months, and they say I'm one of the sweetest, easiest dogs to have around. I'm friendly with just about everyone I meet - men, women, and kids of all ages. Babies, toddlers, big kids, teenagers... I'm happy to be around them all and usually keep a calm, easygoing attitude.
I'm house trained and already know "sit" and "stay." I walk nicely on a leash and enjoy getting outside for walks or time in the yard. Out there I'm usually a happy mix of playful and relaxed - sometimes running around, sometimes just hanging out and enjoying the fresh air.
Other animals don't bother me much either. I do well with both big and small dogs and tend to be friendly and relaxed when I meet them. Birds and squirrels? I don't really pay them any attention.
I love toys and I love affection, which might be my two favorite things in life. I'm always happy to play, but I'm just as happy getting pets and spending time with my people. Even better, I'm very respectful in the house and don't tear up toys or household items.
Crate training is still a work in progress for me, but I'm learning. At mealtime I'm calm and friendly, and I'm usually kenneled while I eat.
Overall, I'm a loving, gentle dog who enjoys being around people and would fit well into many different kinds of families. If you're looking for a friendly companion who enjoys toys, affection, and just being part of the family, I might be the perfect match.
My adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Plus, a microchip that is already registered to you! What more could you ask for?

Adoptions are by appointment Tuesday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, you're welcome to walk in anytime between 10:00am and 5:00pm. Please note that we're closed for adoptions on Sundays and Mondays.
