Hello, I'm Ichabod-a rather distinguished gentleman with excellent manners and a deep appreciation for life's simple comforts. I'm also a Priority Pet because I'm FIV-positive. That simply means I have Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), and it's very different from FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus). Many FIV+ cats live long, happy, normal lives, and FIV is primarily spread through deep bite wounds-so it's not something that passes through casual cuddles, sharing bowls, or lounging together.

My ideal day includes a cozy blanket or welcoming lap, plenty of head rubs and chin scritches, and timely access to treats (I do know exactly where the magic treat closet is).

I'm very people-oriented and enjoy being near my humans. I'll gently wind around your legs, bump your hand to request pats, and curl up beside you for a nap. I have a very quiet little meow-more of a polite peep, really-and a soft, steady purr that lets you know I'm content. I'm also an expert biscuit maker, using just the right amount of pressure so nothing ever gets snagged.

When playtime strikes, I adore my crinkly fish toy. I bunny-kick it, fling it around, and often follow that up with a round of zoomies down the hallway. I also enjoy watching the world go by from a window or door when I'm not hard at work warming a lap or napping from a higher vantage point.

I get along well with other cats and am curious but respectful of their boundaries. I am wary of dogs, especially larger ones, but I can peacefully coexist with calm, respectful canine housemates who give me space. I'm gentle, patient, and sweet, and I'm told I make friends quite easily.

If you're looking for a mellow, affectionate companion with a quiet voice, a soft purr, and a truly gentle soul, I would be honored to meet you.
