Hi! My name is Balderdash, but my friends call me Scooter-and once you see me zooming around, you'll understand why!
You see, my back legs don't work quite like everyone else's, but that's never stopped me from living life at full speed. I scoot, I explore, I play, I make friends, and I generally keep myself involved in whatever excitement is happening nearby. Sitting on the sidelines? Not my style.
I'm a social butterfly in a very handsome cat suit. I absolutely love people and firmly believe that any activity can be improved by my participation. Folding laundry? I'll supervise. Watching TV? I'll join you. Working from home? Excellent-I can help with that too.
One of my favorite things in the whole world is playing with feather toys. Those feathery little things bring out my inner hunter! I also love spending time outside on the patio, feeling the breeze in my whiskers and keeping an eye on the world. It's my version of a luxury vacation.
The best part about me, though, isn't how fast I scoot-it's how much love I have to give. I adore attention, pets, conversations, and making new friends. I love other cats, and even if they aren't immediately convinced that we should be best friends, I'm always willing to keep trying. I've even been chatting with the big dogs through the door and think they seem pretty interesting.
Now, I do come with a few special instructions. Because I'm paralyzed, I wear a diaper and need my bladder expressed a few times a day. I'm also on a special food that keeps my tummy happy. It sounds like a lot, but I've become a total pro at my routine. My caregivers say I'm incredibly patient and easygoing about it all.
The truth is, I don't spend much time thinking about what I can't do. I'm too busy enjoying everything I can do. I wake up every day excited to play, explore, snuggle, and make someone smile.

Adoptions are by appointment Tuesday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, you're welcome to walk in anytime between 10:00am and 5:00pm. Please note that we're closed for adoptions on Sundays and Mondays.
