***** NEW FOR ADOPTION *****
Yoohoo? Anybody out there looking for a Frenchie? We know, we know... Everyone wants a French bulldog these days. Now is your chance to apply for one (provided you can meet her needs). Suki was found as a stray and had a prolapsed rectum (likely why someone just let her go). BTRNC provided her with corrective surgery, and after many months, has shown no issue or recurrence. Suki is ready to find her new family where she can be her darling little self! Read on for more:
Age Estimated 3-5 years old
Weight: 18.5 pounds
Health: Very good
Demeanor: Very affectionate, very sweet, laidback, calm, playful, couch potato, social, submissive, will bark to let you know what she wants
Likes: People (including dog-savvy children); dogs; LOVES snuggling and to be with her person; giving kisses; likes to lay up against you; enjoys sitting in laps; going for car rides and walks; belly rubs; sleeping in your bed and burrowing under blankets; Milk Bone biscuits
Dislikes: No real big dislikes here. She will bark at the vacuum and bark to let you know she wants out of her crate
Manners: She is housebroken, however, she will potty in her crate if not let out when needed; walks well on leash; knows verbal commands "no," "come," and "stay"
Fenced Yard: Recommended. She loves running in the yard with her doggy foster brothers and sisters
Tidbits: Suki is a very affectionate and loving dog. Her favorite activity is to snuggle with her human and with her doggie BFF's in her foster home. She loves children and has been very good with all ages while participating in adoption events (with supervising parents nearby). However, even if you are Suki's dog pal, you do not want to get between her and a good dog biscuit. She will tolerate it if you are a human but that's her only exception.
Because of her history of rectal prolapse, her diet should always be monitored to be sure her stools stay soft to avoid any further issues.
She loves to run in her fenced backyard and play chase with the other Bostons. She can go pretty fast on her short little legs. She is not a long-distance runner or hiker and can tire easily, especially in hot weather. When it is very warm or hot outside, she should not stay out for long (true for all brachycephalic dogs). She is good on a leash and enjoys walks.
She is good in her crate and does not mind hanging out in there. However, she will use her crate as her private bathroom if she is not let out when needed. She will benefit from some work on her housebreaking and should not be confined for extended periods without a break.
When she is sleepy or tired, she will stick her tongue out partially and rest with it that way.
She is an adorably sweet girl who requires a home with one or two other dogs. She'd miss frolicking about the yard without a buddy. She will also need to continue working on her housebreaking skills, and her diet should be monitored to be sure her stools remain soft. Suki wants a lot of affection and someone who is around often to tend to her needs.
