***** COURTESY POST ***** ***** PREFERS WOMEN *****
THIS DOG IS NOT BEING FOSTERED WITH OUR RESCUE. TO APPLY, PLEASE CONTACT BETSYSBOSTONS@AOL.COM. WE ARE SIMPLY ASSISTING HER CARETAKER IN FINDING HER A FOREVER HOME.
Lady Grace was adopted by her elderly owner about a year ago. After a time, she realized Lady was just too much for her. Her owner is not steady on her feet and Lady's strength made walking her impossible. A friend took her in with the intention of finding her the right home, and we have been asked to help spread the word. Lady is super sweet, affectionate and simply wants a place to be loved forever. Age: 2.5 years old
Weight: 35 pounds
Health: Excellent
Demeanor: Affectionate; sweet; timid/shy; quiet/mellow; playful; high energy (at times); couch potato (at times); social; curious; anxious (somewhat); can be rough when playing
Likes: Women (would consider a kind and gentle man, but she needs time to warm up); children; most dogs; cats; giving kisses; being held (getting used to); car rides and walks; belly rubs; any toys; sleeping in your bed
Dislikes: Men; thunderstorms; fireworks; being crated; loud noises/voices; quick hands/movements; can be treat aggressive
Fenced Yard: Highly preferred. She does know how to use a doggy door, too
Tidbits: It is believed that Lady was abused by a man as her actions seem to indicate. She immediately bonded with her female caretaker but is very slowly coming around to her boyfriend (after 6 months). However, she'd probably be happiest and feel more comfortable in an all-female home (though children of either sex are okay).
As mentioned above, Lady is strong and can be rough when playing. For that reason, she'd do best with a dog her equal (or one that is highly active like she is). Lady needs exercise so walks will be important. Having a fenced yard where she can romp around would be ideal.
This adorable and loving girl deserves the right home to suit her personality. She will greatly benefit from consistency and a few good training classes wouldn't hurt. The perfect home for Lady would be one with a female owner, a canine friend of equal strength and energy and someone who will make sure she gets her exercise. Could that be you?
