***** NEW FOR ADOPTION *****
What is it that almost everyone wants (besides cold, hard cash)? Why, it's a Boston puppy of course, and we have one available. Meet Wojo! This adorable boy was surrendered because the new baby in the family was highly allergic. And while that means someone else will be lucky enough to love him, he will need a lot more training to be considered a well-mannered dude. Remember, puppies are a lot of work! Please read on for more details:
Age: 8 months old
Weight: 15 pounds
Health: Excellent
Demeanor: Highly active/energetic, affectionate, very curious, sweet, timid/shy in new situations, very playful, social, vocal, submissive when another dog tells him he needs to stop his nonsense
Likes: People (not tested with children), dogs (not tested with cats), playing tug-o-war, some fetch, giving kisses, snuggling, sitting in laps at the most inconvenient times, sometimes he likes being held, car rides, walks, belly rubs, tolerates the bath, all toys (will destroy some), burrowing under blankets, sleeping in your bed
Dislikes: Being crated (though he will go in), being left alone, sharing toys
Manners: Housebroken, crate trained but lets you know he's not happy about it, working on leash training. Knows verbal command: sit
Fenced Yard Required: Yes. He loves to run around
Tidbits: Full-on puppy mode, here. Wojo is a bit of a wild man. He's almost always on the go - chasing or roughhousing with the dogs in his foster home (some of whom must let him know when they've had enough of his shenanigans). He tends to test everything with his teeth - like a shark, as his foster mom tells us.
At the end of a busy day, he loves to snuggle. He will curl up next to you and sleep under a blanket. He thinks it's great to sit in your lap when you're busy because no one is allowed to ignore Wojo!
Funny story: Wojo went to work with his foster daddy one day. The boss had installed a putting green in an office which Wojo discovered. And what did Wojo's daddy discover? A poop left by Wojo on that green. Technically, he pooped on the grass. How's that for smart?
The perfect home for Wojo would be one where someone will continue to train him in areas such as verbal cues, walking on leash, etc. A fenced yard where he can run, chase and play is expected. He'd probably enjoy another equally energetic dog as a playmate. Though not tested with children, he'd likely be okay with kids older than 8 who are respectful and understand puppy behavior. We request that you only apply if you can fulfill the requirements above: https://btrnc.org/adoption/
