Say hello to the wonderful Jake, who also goes by the name Rocky! He came to us in 2021 after many Kentucky shelters were overwhelmed by the massive tornadoes that struck the state. In his last home, he happily shared his space with three kids under the age of 10, and a cat whose boundaries he was trained to respect. Sadly, they moved and weren't able to take him along with them, so he is here to find a forever home!
Jake is a dog with an infectious enthusiasm and love for life, people, and adventuring. He is easily excitable and tends to jump on people, and has a habit of escaping to explore the outdoors on his own, which he will need some extra training on. His favorite hobbies are cuddling, going on walks, and playing with toys. While he is loving and friendly, he is a protective dog by nature; this behavior is very manageable with proper training, patience, and room for him to let out his energy. He is working on impulse control around other dogs, and is making progress everyday. Jake is housebroken and does well out of his crate for extended periods of time when left alone.
This guy is a patient, warm-hearted, and lively family dog that would do best with plenty of space to run around, consistent training, and many people for him to love. If you believe you have the right home for him, come pay a visit to this special boy at SPCA Cincinnati today!
