Hi, I'm Popcorn! I'm a gentle, thoughtful girl with enormous eyes, a quiet personality, and a very special little family of my own. I was rescued by Smittens from a euthanasia list, and thankfully I was given a second chance. My son, Butter, was the only kitten from my litter to survive, so our bond is incredibly important to both of us. We've been through a lot together, and I would absolutely love for our next chapter to be together too.
I'm a bit of a master at making a first impression that can be misleading. I may seem shy or even like I'm not particularly interested in cuddles when you first meet me. But there's a secret to winning me over: treats! Give me something delicious and suddenly I'm right beside you, happily asking for more pets and attention. I just need someone willing to be patient and let me build trust at my own pace. Move slowly, give me time, and I'll show you the sweet girl hiding behind my initial shyness.
I enjoy toys that make interesting noises, watching the world through doors and windows, and simply observing what's happening around me. I'm not looking for a chaotic household-I appreciate peace and quiet and a person who understands that a good relationship is built one little step at a time. Once I feel comfortable, though, you'll see much more of my affectionate side.
My son Butter is my favorite companion. We get along wonderfully, and I would love for us to find a home together. He helps bring out my playful side, and having him nearby gives me comfort and companionship. Because I'm FeLV+, my future home will need to be with Butter or another FeLV+ cat. Fortunately, Butter and I are already a bonded little team, so we don't have to imagine what life with a feline companion would be like-we already know we make a great pair.
I'm also still figuring out my feelings about dogs. I haven't decided whether canine roommates are my cup of tea, but I think a quiet, respectful dog who keeps to themselves might be perfectly fine. Loud noises, however, are definitely not my thing. Neither are belly rubs. I have many wonderful qualities, but those two things are firmly on my "no thank you" list.
One look at me and you'll understand what makes me special. I have enormous eyes that make me look like a cartoon character in real life. They're practically impossible to resist, especially once you realize that behind those big eyes is a sweet girl who just needs a little patience to feel safe.
My perfect home would be a calm, cat-savvy household where my people understand that I may need some time to come out of my shell. I'd love to have Butter by my side, where we can play, nap, explore, and continue looking out for each other. I'd also appreciate humans who are willing to move slowly, offer treats, and let our relationship develop naturally.
I am FeLV+, which means I have Feline Leukemia Virus. FeLV is simply one part of my story-not the whole story. It affects my immune system, so I may be more vulnerable to infections and certain illnesses. While some FeLV+ cats have shorter lifespans, many of us enjoy happy, comfortable lives for years with regular veterinary care, good nutrition, and a loving indoor home.
I can pass FeLV to other cats through prolonged close contact, such as grooming, sharing food and water bowls, or from a mother cat to her kittens. I cannot spread it to people, dogs, or other non-feline pets.
Because of this, my ideal home is either as your one and only feline friend or with other FeLV+ cats. Most importantly, I'm still the same loving, playful, and deserving cat-I just need a family who understands my condition and is ready to give me the love and care I deserve.
