Hi I'm January!
I'm a quiet, observant, and comfort-loving girl who likes to take in the world from the security of a cozy tunnel or hideaway before deciding what I'm ready for. I haven't been introduced to dogs or my foster family's resident cats yet, so I can't say how I'll feel about them, and with kids I need slow, calm introductions - quiet voices, gentle movements, and plenty of space. If I'm feeling overwhelmed or someone gets too close, I'll let you know with a hiss, and I just need a little room after that. Once I feel safe, I settle into gentle affection and reward you with lots of purring.
I love Churu treats, cozy blankets and beds, and having a dark, comfy tunnel as my special safe place. Back and head scratches are a favorite when I'm feeling secure, and I like playing with enrichment toys on my own - I prefer to do that when I think no humans are watching! I'm not a fan of being rushed or having my personal bubble invaded; sudden movements, loud or unfamiliar situations, and people approaching too fast can make me nervous, so slow, quiet, and predictable is really the way to my heart.
What makes me special? I'm a quiet little observer with a surprisingly big purr. I may prefer watching the world from my hideaway, but when I feel safe enough for affection, my purrs tell you exactly how happy I am - and earning my trust is something special.
My perfect home is quiet, calm, and patient, with people who understand that I need time and space to feel secure. Cozy, tucked-away spots where I can observe without being approached matter a lot to me, and I do best with people who let me initiate interaction and respect my signals when I need space. Kids are welcome as long as they're calm, gentle, and consistent about respecting my boundaries. I may take longer to build trust, but once I feel safe, you'll be glad you waited.
