August 1st, 2026 marked Rex's 15th full month of NOT having a family and a home. He has known nothing but shelter life for over a year! Why he has been passed over time and time again is truly a mystery. He recently started staying in a foster home part-time. His foster mom did a DNA test. He is a mix of 14 breeds the top one being 31% German shepherd. She says he's a low maintenance house pet. "I just take him on a few walks a day and the occasional adventure and he's content."
Other observations made about Rex:
He is easy to handle and easy to walk with.
Needs very little entertainment.
Is comfortable and well- behaved being left alone.
Has been great with smaller dogs in the shelter as well as in the foster home.
His only downside? He definitely prefers human beds to dog beds...
