Maui needs a special human to give him time to learn to trust people. He and his siblings were rescued from a feral colony when they were very young, but Maui continues to be afraid. He and his brother Bobby are spending some time in foster care. Their foster mom shares that "Maui is very food motivated and allows me to approach him slowly to deliver treats but he still avoids petting. He is more comfortable moving around with me close by, so he has made progress!"
It is a very rewarding experience to watch a timid cat blossom into a trusting companion. Both of these cats deserve that chance, to move at their own pace and become their best selves! Maui and his brother Bobby are very bonded; playing and wrestling, sleeping together and grooming each other. They would like to be adopted together too!
